What kind of oil do you use?

had a talk with crazyassmike and DJ about this at han's bday thing about the kind of oil everyone uses. plus i think i might be paying too much.

just had a few questions so i can compare what everyone is doin.

-type of oil?
-price?
-general times you change?

i personally use semi synthetic and i pay about 40-50 bucks for 4 quarts. and change it out every 3000 miles.

I used amsoil full synthetic motorcycle oil 10/40 and def. Change evry 3-4 k mi.

And Im due for a change! Oil Change get together?? LoLz

lol i changed mine about 1k ago so i wont need another one for about a month or two :P but we should still hang out haha

Amsoil in every bike I've ever owned. It's not cheap $11-13 a quart depending where you buy it. Intervals between changes vary. Anywhere from 1000-3000 miles depending on type of riding (street/track days).

Amsoil seems to be a popular choice from what i hear. 11-13 isnt too bad considering i'm paying $40-50 for 4 quarts or semi synthetic. I should try it out.

i go to kragen and pick up 2 quarts of each, synthetic and regular and mix em. :D its cheap and works just fine.

i change every 3k

We sell the amsoil 10w40 at tognotti's auto world on the corner of fulton and el camino for 11.99/ qt. I still buy my filter from the dealer

I use mobil 1 synthetic 10-40, I picked up a bunch from cycle gear when they had a sale about 4 months ago, it was 6.99 per quart. When it's not on sale it's 9.59 at pepboys for the same stuff... I need to do an oil change for this upcoming season.
